Obama vs. Romney Debate Prediction: Romney Will Be Declared the Winner

Here is my last minute prediction on the first Obama-Romney debate:

I think Mitt Romney is going to win it. This has nothing to do with the forensic skills of either Romney or Obama, and everything to do with the media.

Historically speaking, they tend to try to make political stories as “exciting” as possible, and as such, usually tend to award “victory” to whichever participant in a debate was perceived as the “underdog” going into it.

If you want to refute the widely-disseminated myth of the media having an anti-Republican bias in this election, one need not look any further than this recent incident at the Republican National Convention:

In my article on Mitt Romney’s Bain scandal last week, I chided the media for being “pathetic” in its determination to take sides rather than objectively report the facts and demand answers from those in power. One week later, the irresponsibility of our mainstream news outlets has again reared its ugly head, this time when ABC News anchor Brian Ross wrongly connected The Dark Knight Rises killer to the Tea Party shortly after his network broke the story of the shootings.
